Beginner Kiteboarding Intro $99
What to expect from introductory land lesson:
Ground School - You will start with a smaller trainer kite 2M to 3M in size, learn to control it, and run through a series of skills. Introduction to the following:
- Wind Awareness
- Wind Window Anatomy
- Launching and Landing
- Different Power Strokes – Low Power, Medium Power, High Power
- Body Positioning
- Simulated Water Start on Land
- Introduction to Equipment
Get Into the Sport Day Lesson $250
What to expect from the Hands On Part of Your Lesson:
- Ground School - You will start with a smaller kite, learn to fly it and run through a series of skills.
- Once proficient at flying the smaller kite, you will be introduced to a larger kite that you will help set-up.
- Kiteboarding Preflight Check.
- Perform a safe assisted launch and assisted landing of kite.
- After learning all the safety features and procedures with that kite, you will begin “body dragging” where the kite pulls you through the water, without a board.
- Once body dragging in both directions is mastered, you will start trying to get up on the board.
- Execute kite water relaunching.
- Safety protocol and guidelines.
- Release safety system so you can disarm the kite.
- Make sure you know how to deploy and reset all of your safety systems.
- Learn self rescue techniques.
Kiteboarding Camps
Tawas Point 2-Day Camp $450
Day 1:
- Ground School
- Once proficient at flying the smaller kite, you will be introduced to a larger kite that you will help set-up.
- Kiteboarding Preflight Check.
- Lunch
- Perform a safe assisted launch and assisted landing of kite.
- After learning all the safety features and procedures with that kite, you will begin “body dragging” where the kite pulls you through the water, without a board.
- Execute kite water relaunching.
Day 2:
- Once body dragging is mastered in both directions, you will start trying to get up on the board.
- Safety protocol and guidelines.
- Release safety system so you can disarm the kite.
- Make sure you know how to deploy and reset all of your safety systems.
- Learn self rescue techniques.
- Waterstarts, kite positioning, body positioning, power intake, controlling your speed, changing directions.
- Riding Downwind.
